Lotus is alive and kicking hard with its most powerful and fastest model ever produced. Evora 400‘s power comes from supercharged 3.5 litre V6 producing 400 horsepower and 302 lb-ft of torque. That’s an increase of 55 horsepower over the last Evora, courtesy new supercharger, new water to air intercooler and revised engine management system. Braking has also improved considerably, lightweight aluminium wheels wrapped up in Michelin pilot super tires measure 19 inches in the front and 20 inch at the rear as a standard.
The car can rocket in 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than 4.1 seconds and continue to a top speed of 186 miles per hour. In the Lotus’s own track the car has shed 6 seconds than the outgoing model. Despite the Evora 400 looks pretty much the same as the old model, the company proclaims that about two-third of the car is new. This car weighs about 49 pounds lesser than its predecessors.
The overall length of the car has also been increased by 1.5 inches.
The production is expected to start by the end of July this year and the company will first exploit European markets before heading on to the U.S. Let us keep our fingers crossed and wait for this hardcore speedster to arrive.
